Service Description

** RDH Basic Pistol/Tactical Medical course (or equivalent) is required before attending the Advanced Pistol course. The Advanced Pistol and Tactical Medical Course provided by RedHorse Defense centers around the end goal of taking legal, basically trained handgun owners to the next level. In this course, shooters will develop a high level of confidence with their firearm, sharpen handgun proficiency, increase speed and accuracy, learn effective techniques for drawing from the holster, train on shooting from dynamic shooting positions while utilizing cover, shoot while moving, develop one handed (dominant and non-dominant) shooting capabilities and implementation of critical, life saving medical skills used by special operations and tactical paramedics. The class culminates with scenarios where students will implement learned tactics, engage targets under reasonable stress, and (after being safety checked and weapon cleared) treat live “victims” with moulage injuries & stage blood. *** We feel it is important to note that many gun ranges may advertise similar “classes”. Unfortunately, these may be taught by self deemed “instructors” or individuals that have only participated in 1-2 day “instructor schools”… However, Redhorse Defense takes pride in bringing our students an instructor cadre of experienced and credentialed trainers. All of our instructors and affiliates bring to the table subject matter expertise with backgrounds in law enforcement, military weapons instruction, emergency medicine, special operations etc. Range Day Itinerary (8 hour, full day course) 1) Basic Weapons Handling & Safety 2) Fundamentals of Pistol Marksmanship Warm-up    2.1) Optional LTC Qualification Shoot (after class) 3) Remedial Action, Malfunction and Speed Reloading Advanced 4) Drawing From Holster 5) Advanced Defensive Handgun Tactics/ Dynamic Tactics 6) Tactical Medical Principles and Interventions  7) Scenarios (Tactics +Medical) Course Location: Mission 160 Gun Range, 6040 TX-160 Whitewright, TX. Gear List: Weather appropriate attire, closed toed shoes. Hydration and food for lunch Handgun (6 round capacity or greater) Magazines (Combined loadable total of 12 rounds or more.
