THE CADRE

RedHorse Defense Solutions was founded in 2011 by Joseph C. Heath. Joseph is the owner, primary firearms instructor, and medical instructor. After taking on the secondary billet of Combat Marksmanship Coach within his unit during his 6 year career in the Marine Corps, Joseph discovered his passion for developing shooters. "After completing the Coaches Course at Weapon Training Battalion in Quantico, VA, I returned to my unit and for the first time took on the responsibility of running my first range and applying what I had learned to help my Marines become better marksmen. I specifically remember spending some time on the line with a female Marine that was struggling to make qualification. After about 10 min of coaching her fundamentals and helping her make the proper adjustments to her optic, she dialed in and passed her qualification with flying colors. I'm not sure who was more excited! It was in that moment I learned that the one thing I enjoyed more than shooting was seeing the excitement of my shooters when they reach a new level of proficiency, lethality and confidence with their weapon."

Shortly thereafter, Joseph decided that he wanted to bring the same product home to his community and start a company where civilians could learn how to become better protectors for themselves and the ones they love. In 2011, Joseph started his company offering his clients a wide variety of weapons training options including: Texas License to Carry, pistol, rifle, group classes, women's only, corporate classes, and law enforcement (TCOLE) credited training courses.
